This certification is designed for Microsoft Teams administrators who manage internal and external collaboration and communication for an organization. Candidates should be proficient in configuring Teams policies, managing Teams governance, troubleshooting call quality, and integrating Teams with other Microsoft 365 services and third-party applications.

Configuring and managing the Teams environment dominates the blueprint at 40–45% — network settings, security and compliance, governance, external collaboration, and client and device management all sit inside this one domain. Managing teams, channels, chats, and apps follows at a distant 20–25%, with meetings/calling and monitoring/troubleshooting each taking 15–20%.

That weighting means the exam leans tenant-wide administration over day-to-day collaboration features: governance policies and external-access configuration outweigh questions about creating a team or pinning a tab. Candidates who know Teams well as end users but haven't configured external and guest access, or worked through the Teams admin center's policy hierarchy, are underprepared for almost half the exam.

The exam draws 40–60 questions from a mix of multiple-choice, multiple-select, drag-and-drop, and hot-area formats inside a 100-minute window. Most items are scenario-based, asking you to configure Teams policies, resolve a meeting or calling problem, or read a call-quality dashboard and decide what's wrong.
