If your PL-900 study material walks you through creating a Power Pages site, that objective was deleted in July.
Microsoft updated the skills measured for Exam PL-900 on July 24, 2026. Power Pages lost its own domain. A Copilot Studio agents domain is new, and Microsoft weights it at 20–25%.
The Five Domains Now
Microsoft’s published weights for the version in force since July 24, 2026:

The change log on the PL-900 study guide is unusually specific about direction. Business value and Power Apps shrank, managing the environment and Power Automate grew, and the Copilot Studio agents domain is new.
What Microsoft publishes is the direction, not the old percentages. So a study site telling you the exact before-and-after split is filling in a number Microsoft never printed.
Power Pages Lost Its Domain, Not Its Mention
Microsoft removed the Power Pages capability group and both entries under it: describing Power Pages capabilities, and creating a Power Pages site.
One Power Pages line survived, inside the business value domain: describe the value of Power Pages to build websites.
That is the whole footprint now. The value question stays, the site-building objective is gone.
Copilot Studio Is Up to a Quarter of the Exam
The new domain splits in two.
Building agents covers use cases for agents, building conversation paths with topics, using knowledge sources, how tools including MCP servers and agent flows get used, and publishing agents through channels.
Managing agents covers Microsoft Agent 365, monitoring agent usage and adoption, and agent evaluations.
This is the newest material on the exam, so older prep libraries may not cover it at all. A question bank assembled before July 24 may have nothing on it, and Microsoft weights the domain at up to a quarter of the exam.
The Exam Moved From Build to Describe
The Power Apps domain used to ask you to build a canvas app and build a model-driven app. Both objectives are gone. What replaced them is a single group: describe how to build basic apps by using Power Apps.
Power Automate went the same way. “Build a Power Automate flow” became “describe how to build basic flows.”
Read that as a change in what gets tested, not a difficulty cut. The new bullets name surfaces the old ones didn’t: Plan designer, code apps, and creating AI-powered apps through the vibe experience. Dataverse now lists Power Fx among its business logic options, and the administration objectives now list application lifecycle management with Power Platform pipelines.
AI-assisted creation runs through Dataverse, Power Apps and Power Automate alike. Recognizing what a feature is for beats memorizing where its button lives.
What Didn’t Change
The mechanics are the same as every Microsoft Fundamentals exam.
You get 45 minutes of exam time and should book out 65 minutes of seat time, per Microsoft’s exam duration page. Five minutes of break time are built into the 45, not added to it.
You need 700 or greater to pass, on a scale of 1 to 1000. Microsoft is direct about what that isn’t: as a scaled score, it may not equal 70% of the points. The same page says there is no penalty for guessing, so leave nothing blank.
Microsoft doesn’t publish a question count for PL-900 on any of these pages. It says most of its exams contain between 40 and 60 questions and that the number varies by exam. Treat a precise figure from anywhere else as someone’s estimate.
You can browse Microsoft Learn during associate and expert exams. Fundamentals exams don’t get that, and PL-900 is a Fundamentals exam. Nothing to look up.
And the certification doesn’t expire. Role-based Microsoft certifications lapse after a year and need a renewal assessment. Fundamentals ones don’t, so PL-900 stays on your transcript without maintenance.

Check whether your material reflects the July 24, 2026 skills update. The publication date on its own won’t tell you. Older material describes the previous objective set, and the gap is not cosmetic: a removed domain on one side, a new 20–25% domain on the other.
