Overview
About the exam
The SnowPro Specialty: Native Apps Certification (NAS-C01) validates expertise in building, deploying, and managing applications using the Snowflake Native App Framework, including application package design, provider and consumer workflows, data content management, monetization through the Snowflake Marketplace, security and governance for app distribution, and lifecycle management of deployed applications across consumer accounts.
This specialty certification targets application developers, ISV engineers, and platform architects with at least one year of experience building Snowflake Native Apps. It demonstrates the ability to create and distribute data applications through the Marketplace and is valuable for professionals in Snowflake's growing partner and ISV ecosystem.

Watch out
Where candidates struggle
Developers who have built Snowflake integrations but not actual Native Apps often fail questions about application packages, version management, setup scripts, and the provider-consumer trust boundary.
- 01App Package vs App — Confusing the application package (provider-side container with versions and patches) with the installed application object (consumer-side instance) leads to lifecycle management errors.
- 02Setup Scripts — Not understanding how setup scripts run during installation, how they create application-scoped objects, and their permission boundaries causes app development question mistakes.
- 03Shared Data Content — Mixing up shared data content (read-only, from provider) with application-local data (consumer-owned, read-write) leads to data architecture question errors.
- 04Marketplace Listings — Not knowing the difference between free, paid, and personalized listing types — and the approval and monetization workflows for each — leads to distribution question failures.
